Pentofrost A2 does not contain any silicate, borate, nitrite or amine containing additives” as I did find it at auto zone for $10 a gallon concentrated. Pentofrost A2 is suitable for all Asian vehicles using “green” Antifreeze/Coolant. Looks like it will be using Pentofrost A2 “A phosphated organic acid technology (phosphated OAT) which is categorized as HOAT (hybrid organic acid technology) in the US market. Rotella/Shell said they have nothing for me at all. The PRESTONE tech recommended their EXTENDED LIFE ANTIFREEZE, but O’Reilly’s website shows it to have no phosphates. They also did not recommend the ASIAN formulas as it was not heavy duty. Valvoline recommended the ZEREX EXTENDED LIFE NITRITE FREE but no one around here carries it or wants to order it and I don’t need a case of it. It turns out that PEAK and PEAK FINAL CHARGE is only nitrite free and not recommended for my tractor per the technician at PEAK He said to use the ASAIN formula and hope for the best as it was not heavy duty. Not sure what tint topic AF is but really other than attempting to match the oem tint, doesn't matter. Peak original equipment technology antifreeze + coolant is specifically designed for Asian vehicles requiring a green coolant, and is formulated with the same phosphate-enhanced organic acid technology that protected your vehicle straight from the factory. Pentofrost A2 is another option, green tint, comes as a concentrate as noted from AAP.Īny of those should work fine, using tint of your choice. WM now carries Valvoline Asian Vehicle in red or blue tint, ~$12 gallon.ĪZ has Pentofrost A3 blue tint, currently on sale $10/gal.īoth of those are premixes, which the majority of the long/extended service interval AFs come as now. Most all AFs are ethylene glycol based no matter type. Many aftermarket options now available for much less the $40/gal. Any suggestions?ĭescription reads like a typical Asian P-HOAT AF, aka phosphated OAT AF. I would order it but I am sure KUBOTA does not make their own antifreeze and I can not justify $40 a gallon delivered. Any suggestion on what to pick up at Walmart, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto or O'rilleys which is the only options in out area. ( ) So I need a Ethylene Glycol-based phosphate coolant to meet Asian vehicle application and does not contain any silicate, borate or nitrite. I also plan to monitor the coolant's health at least twice a year. Here are the specs from the KUBOTA coolant. I'd probably change it at 75K (which is the 150K mile mark, assuming there aren't any cooling system failures beforehand). I'm going with the assumption that A2 is good for at least 75K. I don't plan on running either for 150K, but I don't want to run the A2 for 75K if it's only good for 30K. I'd just be gambling with the service life. ANTIFREEZE + COOLANT EXTENDED LIFE GREEN PEAK ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY ANTIFREEZE + COOLANT for ASIAN VEHICLES - GREEN meets the performance requirements of ASTM D3306 and JIS K2234. That being said, Pentosin seems to be the better/higher quality brand, and would be a whopping $1.25 cheaper. My opinion is not a very educated one, as I have no experience with either brand. It just says "extended life." (Member MONKEYMAN is waiting on a response from Pentosin, but I'm betting they won't reply.) Does the A2 last as long as the OET? Nobody seems to know how long A2 can go. Which is better in your opinion and why?Ģ. I can get both in full strength for about the same price. I finally have decided between these two coolants for my Elantra (no longer considering Zerex Asian Blue due to only being available in 50/50). I asked this question in another thread but I asked late in the thread and it seems to have gone unnoticed.
